HALLOWEEN 2008

We had so much fun last night. We had 34 family members and a couple of neighbor kids for chili, hot dogs, and a hay ride. Here are some photos:

Roger in camo.
Allyson as Scream.

Part of the group in front of the house - I'm the clown.

Son, Toby, as a woman (a very ugly woman) his wife, Sue as Elvis, and daughter MacKenzie as Tinker Bell.

Grandson Drake as Power Range, DIL Paula, son, Scott, in wheelchair (fell off a ladder, broken heel)

I should have taken a video of the house because it looks so cool with flashing strobe lights with creatures in the windows upstairs and downstairs, fog, etc.

As I was driving down the road in my town this weekend, I came upon this "car" show. Yes, it is the weirdest car show I've ever seen - - each one was of a hearse! And the show was at the local funeral home. Amazing!

And here he is, the 2008 winner of the local Halloween costume contest....Buddy the Bee! He won $15 worth of mercandise at the local groomer's. Isn't he adorable?>

Buddy didn't seem to like being dressed as a PIG.

Here's Annie in her Halloween costume - she's going to be entered in the contest as a "Pig".

Annie got a costume today for the Class "B" rally next year in Ohio. She's a Bee. This year they called her a "B" dog since she is little like the little Class B motorhome. She really loved wearing the Bee costume - she especially liked the hat. I think it made her warm and she immediately went to sleep in my arms.

UPDATES

Son, Scott, returned to the surgeon on Tuesday and had the cast removed from his wrist/arm. He now has some type of black band that he wears, so that is progress. The doctor checked his heel and said that the swelling was still there but he still hopes to do the surgery tomorrow morning. They are to arrive at the hospital at 6 a.m. and if the swelling is gone, surgery will take place. Depending upon what is discovered, the surgery can take from2 to 8 hours. He will end up with a plate and 17 screws. I can't imagine how he will ever be able to walk on that.

Our niece had a baby boy this week. He is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning also. He will have a cardiac shunt put in and will have to have more surgery down the road. More testing is ongoing to determine other problems he may have. He's a cute little guy and weighed 5 lbs. 3 oz.

I'm back to working 4 or 4 1/2 days a week during our busy season. I'm hoping to make enough money to be able to continue to travel next year. I just registered for a rally in May at Geneva-on-the-Lake. This rally is for Class B motor homes only. I attended my first one in Ohio in May of this year and it was a lot of fun so I am looking forward to this one too.

Hopefully I will be going to Bell Buckle, TN tomorrow night to attend the Art and Craft event that draws 80,000+ people. I have never been to it before and several friends will be going also.

Ride in the Miata

Today we took a short ride to visit son, Scott. He is doing pretty good staying by himself each day, although today the kids were home from school. Tuesday is when he returns to the doctor for a check-up on his wrist surgery and to determine if he is ready for heel surgery on Friday.

The leaves are starting to change color here, so it was a nice ride.
